So I am hoping that with the time I now have on my hands while I search for new work opportunities, I can get back to work on my classic cars.
On the left is my 1972 VW 1302 Beetle Sedan named Żuczek Brzęczyszczykiewicz. He’s my dream project car, but I don’t think I will ever get around to really finding the money to truly resto-mod him into my dream purple and gray Beetle.
I’ve built a new engine for him, and have to get back on the as I need to dial in his new dual carburetors, as I previously had some difficult times getting them both dialed in with the camshaft I went with.
On the right is my 1979VW 1303 Beetle Cabriolet named Murbella. She’s my beautiful girl. I started a new engine on her, taking it as back to stock as possible, but ended up getting stalled on the short block. I’m rebuilding her legacy ancient Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection but I’ve been thinking about going the route of a modern FI system if I can now find the funds.
We’ll see where I can get with them once the heat and humitidy drops, and I just cannot work outside in it anymore. (Plus, there’s major exterior deck and yard work still to do, so I’m thinking maybe I can get back on the garage and cars around mid-late September barring any personal or physical issues.)
