It was inevitable after this morning that Rumours would get a play today.
I did listen to it a few months back, as Fleetwood Mac is on semi-regular rotation in The Studio of Loveā¢.
It was a massively huge album when I was a kid. My mother had the vinyl so I often played it and eventually it migrated up to my bedroom.
The album had many major hits with tons of radio play back in the day, but “Never Going Back Again” remains my favorite song off of it. I think the unusual structure of it had an impact on the types of music I’d like as a teen and later.
And nothing against modern female singers (let’s say past 25 years), but I just don’t “sparkle” with them like I do with older female singers. I could listen to Stevie Nicks or even Christine McVie sing all day today but can barely handle someone like Taylor Swift or some of the other popular female singers of the day. (A lot has to do with the actual music itself too.)
