I spent a large portion of my early life only really Polish words for certain things.
Case in point, what this meme shows.
My family always called it a żłóbek (zwuubek)
When I was a late teen I was finally able to rewire my language centers to “manger” for the usual Christian Christmas nativity setting.
There were many other things that I only had Polish words for back then as well, leading to some minor confusion when I my parents moved me to a non-Polish catholic school.
