Yeah.
“Garden State” felt fresh and new when it was released but looking back on it with much older eyes it was really just a late Gen X/Early Millennial story about fetishing one’s victimhood.
That said, it was this film that turned me onto James Mercer and The Shins so it did do that for me and for that I have to be grateful for it.
