We all have different “favorite” bands as we age. While I have never ever stopped loving my previous favorite, and they always remain on heavy rotation even after many decades, Death Cab has probably been my favorite band now since 2006 or so. I don’t think I go a day without listening to at least…

🎧 The Shins’ 2001 album “Oh, Inverted World” 🎧
I need something old school. Well. Old school for my life. I find very much comfort in “Oh, Inverted World” being on my regular rotation.

🎧 Monaco’s 1997 album “Music For Pleasure” 🎧
To my knowledge, their only album. The album reminds me of a less electronic New Order. I very much like it.

🎧 The Cure’s 1989 album “Disintegration” 🎧
I had a moment just now and was like, I haven’t listed to The Cure in a few weeks. I was like, what album? And then I heard South Park’s Kyle Broflovski in my head yell out “Distintegration is the best album!” And here we are. Wish will have to wait.

🎧 Broken Bells’ 20010 album “Broken Bells” 🎧
It has been a James Mercer morning here in The Studio of Loveâ„¢. Then again, when is it NOT a time for James Mercer? Exactly.

🎧 Death Cab for Cutie’s 2008’s album “Narrow Stairs” 🎧
So many great songs on this album. Just so many. Hell. ALL of the songs on this album are great! It is hard to pick a favorite. No Sunlight is one. But I Will Possess Your Heart is too. And Long Division. And I can’t forget Pity and Fear too. Too many!!! Too many!!!

“I’m listening to the music with no fear…”
I am assuming that the 2006 Teddybears’ song “Punkrocker” with Iggy Pop on vocals has got be seein a resurgence this week because of a certain movie that released. It has been one of my favorite songs from the past 20 years or so. Was not expecting to see it in the film, let alone…

🎧 Neutral Milk Hotel’s 1998’s album “In the Aeroplane Over the Sea” 🎧
So far this week has been disappointing. I’ve accomplished very little. The heat, humidity, and now rain have kept me from being outside. Oddly, I find myself just horribly tired day in day out and I’ve yet to do anything substantial other than spend quality time with my herd of dogs. Anyway, it has proven…

🖸 Favorite Nala Songs 🖸
The Pixie’s Here Comes Your Man off off 1989’s Doolittle is a perfect song for that year. Utterly unlike all of the other music being released that year. You can almost hear The Supremes’ singing this back in their glory days. Or so many other bands.

🎧 Peter Gabriel’s 2000’s album “OVO” 🎧
I’m in a Peter Gabriel mood this morning while I clean the Studio of Loveâ„¢. OVO is pretty much pure Gabriel with a variety of vocal performances. Oddly, I’ve never looked to see if there are any easily watchable recorded performances of the OVO that ran at the Millennium Dome in London in 2000.
